I have been in IT support for many years and as a collector of antique instruments, worried about theft or damage I have looked for ways where technology can assist recovery or compensation if someone is unlucky enough  to become a victim. The result is Infolock which I believe can really help to beat the thief.

ABOUT INFOLOCK

Infolock is a secure and inexpensive service optimising the recovery of stolen or damaged valuables. Recovery of such items is difficult, insurers may not act as recovery costs often exceed value, whilst police resources are heavily stretched and are primarily aimed at catching the thief. Many items recovered by the police are never returned as there is no evidence of ownership, equally insurance claims are often settled more easily with visual or documentary evidence.

Infolock provides galleries where members or the police can display images from recent or historical thefts, anyone recognising an item may then register a claim. Infolock members upload to a personal hub which stores items anonymously, individual portfolios are separated from personal data. As required Infolock will distribute information across our database of auctioneers, dealers and insurance companies.

Members can upload, download or delete as they wish, with help from the team at Infolock when needed. There is an annual charge for the storage facility which amounts to less than forty pence a week, a small amount for a great service.
